Under Water Treadmill

Our large under water treadmill allows room for all size and breeds of dogs to carry out there therapy programs comfortably. Water treadmill is the action of continuously walking in warm water in a controlled environment to improve muscle strength, tone and body co-ordination.

Features

This under water treadmill is specifically designed for canine rehabilitation and sport medicine.It has features such as 360 viewing windows for gait assessment, a smooth belt that can be reversed if necessary and electronic incline which can be used where appropriate in your pets rehab plan.

The water is heated to 30 degrees which improves joint mobilisation, aids pain management and allows fresh nutrients and oxygen to reach muscles.

Treatment

This treatment is a controlled therapy and can be used to target certain muscles and joints for bespoke rehab plans. The water depth, belt speed and duration of the session can all be adjusted to create a specialized plan for your dog's rehab or sport requirements.

Our rehab sessions are booked with a canine hydrotherapy specialist. These sessions include:

An assessment of your patient before entering the treadmill
Fitting of a safety harness
Hands on hydrotherapy session
Pre/post water therapy shower
Towel dry
Treats & toys to keep the sessions interactive and fun.

Booking An Appointment

For all conditions, sport medicine programs and fitness patients we require permission from your vets for our therapists to assess and treat your pet.

To process this we require the following information:

-Therapy requested i.e hydrotherapy, physiotherapy

- The full name of your pet registered at your vets & condition coming for

- The vets your pets are registered with

-The first line of your address

We will then contact your vets to complete our referral forms and request your pets clinical history. Once this has been returned we will contact you to book your initial consultation.

Pet Insurance

We are registered with IRVAP (Institute of Registered Veterinary Animal Physiotherapists) & ICH (institute of Canine Hydrotherapists) and the Association of Charted Physiotherapist in Animal Therapy, therefore most insurance companies will cover the costs of your treatment, this comes under complimentary therapy (for hydrotherapy and acupuncture) and vet fees (for physiotherapy) on your policy.
